Former Nigeria international defender Efe Ambrose says he is interested in the vacant U20 job of the Nigerian team following the exit of Aliyu Zubairu as coach, OwnGoalNigeria.com can exclusively reveal.

A member of the AFCON winning team of Nigeria in 2013. Ambrose who has already gotten his coaching badges in Scotland where he is based said it will be his own way or helping in the development of young players in Nigeria.

Efe who still plays football in the Scottish low division for Glasgow United, but mostly for leisure and also development of young players had an illustrious club career with Scottish giants Celtic.

” I have my coaching badges already and I am ready to take up the U20 job if I am offered. It will be a very good way to assist in the development, discovery and exposure of young players in Nigeria”, he told OwnGoalNigeria.com.

He added: ” I started my national team career with the U20 so I understand better how it works from screening, recruitment and also games. It is a dream I hope will come true”, he stated.
