The technical committee of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) will in the coming days begin the screening of new assistant coaches for head coach of the senior national team of Nigeria Eric Chelle, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.

Chelle came with four of his assistants, while the NFF seconded the duo of Fidelis Ilechukwu and Daniel Ogumodede as part of his backroom staff.

They were a part of the team that won bronze at the recently concluded AFCON, but it’s looking increasingly likely that it will be their last involvement with the team.

We can exclusively reveal that the duo will be replaced in the coming days, with what som sources say are better options who will also benefit from the experience of working with the Super Eagles.

Already Ogumodede has thrown his hat in the ring for the Nigerian U20 job, with his future as coach of Remo Stars far from certain. Ilechukwu is still at Enugu Rangers aiming to lead them to a continental slot.
