The media in the Democratic Republic of Congo have accused the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) of putting undue pressure on world football governing body to rule on their behalf in the protest against them.

Nigeria protested that some players of DR Congo who defeated Nigeria in the final of the world cup qualifiers playoff tournament were ineligible to play, as they hold dual citizenship which is against the constitution of DR Congo.

FIFA was largely expected to make a pronouncement on the protest earlier this week, but a claim into allegations of a certain player submitting fake passport that was used in clearing him has delayed the verdict

In DR Congo the media believe that the pressure by the NFF on FIFA is why they have not yet thrown out the protest by Nigeria, which they feel lacks merit and substance.

They feel there is a certain strong individual obstructing FIFA from throwing away the protest by Nigeria, or making a definite pronouncement on the case.
