Serbian side Crvena zvezda pulled one of the shocks in the Europa League yesterday with a 1-0 win away to French Ligue 1 side Lille in the round of 32 playoff.

The unfancied Serbians secured the win thanks to a goal from Nigerian defender Tebo Franklin in the first minute of time added on before the half time break.

His goal caught the attention of head coach of the senior national team of Nigeria Eric Chelle, who has been watching the tall defender following his move in the summer from Norwegian side Sarpsborg 08.

He was voted the best defender in the Norwegian league last season, and since his move he hasn’t looked out of place in his new environment.

Tebo rose to prominence in the Nigeria Premier League playing for Nasarawa Utd, before crossing over to Swedish side BK Hacken four years ago, initially on loan before making his move permanent the next year.

At the age of 26, Chelle sees him as one of the options he will look at as a potential replacement for Semi Ajayi, who will be 33 this year.
