
Wrexham goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo who has been cleared to play for the senior national team of Nigeria by world football governing body FIFA is available for selection in the upcoming international round of games.
Nigeria will be up against world cup bound teams in Iran and Jordan respectively in a four team invitational tournament. Opening their campaign against Iran on the 27 March before taking on the host four days later.
In the build up to the tournament, Nigeria will likely be without first choice goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali who is presently without a club , opening the possibility of having another goalkeeper in goal.
Okonkwo according to sources close to the 24 year old will be ready for his international bow if selected by head coach Eric Chelle, who convinced him to switch his international allegiance to Nigeria.
As exclusively reported by OwnGoalNigeria.com, the pair met in London last year during the Unity Cup tournament in England, where Okonkwo agreed to play for Nigeria.
