Leicester City defender Olabade Aluko played for the U20 team of England after he was poorly treated in the camp of the Nigeria U20 team ahead of their participation at the U20 World Cup, which was held in Chile.
19 year old Aluko came to the camp of the Nigerian team in Abuja to push for a spot in the team for coach Aliyu Zubairu, but was dropped for reasons that no one in particular could explain.
A source close to the defender, who has made seven first team appearances this season, including five in the English Championship say Zubairu didn’t seem to rate him.
” The body language was off from the start when he came to the camp. It started with he doesn’t have a Nigerian passport to he can’t cope with the intensity of the team. But I must state here that no one asked us for money”, he told OwnGoalNigeria.com in an exclusive chat.
” He played for England U20 two months after leaving the camp of Nigeria and he has since made the breakthrough to the first team of Leicester City. I read that the coach is no longer there and I felt it was just the right thing to do”, he stated.
