Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) are not comfortable with the delay by FIFA in making a pronouncement on the protest lodged by Nigeria against their opponent in the intercontinental playoff DR Congo, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.
Jamaica will take on DR Congo for a ticket to the world cup later this year, but all of that could change if FIFA rules in favour of Nigeria who protested that DR Congo used ineligible players in the final of the African playoff in November.
Nigeria filed the protest to FIFA demanding to be handed the chance to represent Africa in the March playoff, seeking for the disqualification of DR Congo.
FIFA is yet to decide on the protest with around three weeks to the game, and sources at the JFF say they are not comfortable with the lack of clarity few weeks to a very important game.
Although it is widely believed that the protest of Nigeria won’t see the light of the day, Jamaica are however pensive that the delay could mean something else which will possibly derail their preparation for the game.
