Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher says Ibrahima Konate had no answers to the brute force and pace of Nigeria international striker Victor Osimhen in their UEFA Champions League round of 16 game against Galatasaray, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.
Liverpool will head into the second leg of the game on Wednesday looking for a way to turn around the 0-1 deficit at their home ground Anfield, which has always been a fortress.
Osimhen provided the assist by lifting highest to nod the ball down for Mario Lemina to score what ended as the winner in the first leg of the tie in Istanbul.
Aside the assist, the 27 year old was a handful all through for the back line of Liverpool despite failing to add to his current tally of seven goals in the tournament.
” I think Osimhen gave the defence of Liverpool all sort of problem and Konate couldn’t handle him. His pace, strength and aerial ability were too much for him. That’s one area they have to look at in the second leg”, he said.
