Freshly invited Nigeria international goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo picked up his 11th clean sheet of the season in the English Championship for Wrexham in their 2-0 win over Swansea City yesterday.

The win further cemented their playoff spot and well on courses to gain promotion to the English Premier League. Okonkwo was voted the player of the match after the game.

Okonkwo who represented England from U15 to U18 level has already agreed to play for the senior national team of Nigeria, after talks with head coach of the Nigerian team Eric Chelle.

He is expected to be in the team for the upcoming friendly games later this month, but his participation in the game is dependent on the English FA formally writing to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to formalise the switch.

Despite the delay Chelle will still include the 24 year old in his team to begin the process of his integration into the team, where he is seen as someone who will bring competition to the other goalkeepers in the team.
