The planned four team friendly tournament that has been scheduled for the Super Eagles of Nigeria in Jordan has been moved to Turkey, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.

There were doubts if the tournament will hold due to the escalation of the war in the Middle East, an announcement from the Jordan FA confirmed that it will still go ahead but in Turkey rather than the city of Amman in Jordan

“The Jordan Football Association has decided to move the matches of the four-team international friendly tournament, scheduled for March 2026, to be held in the Turkish city of Antalya, due to the current situation in the region and the limited movement of people,” the JFA announced on its official website.

Nigeria who won’t be at the world cup will use the tournament to begin the second phase of the rebuild of the team under Eric Chelle, who led the team to a third place finish at the AFCON in January.

They will open their campaign at the tournament against Iran on the 27th of March, while Jordan take on Costa Rica in the tournament’s other game.

Per the organiser, the final round of games will be played on the 31st of March, with Nigeria up against Jordan while Iran square up with Costa Rica.
