The agent of Brentford defender Michael Kayode is against his client playing for the senior national team of Nigeria rather than Italy, OwnGoalNigeria.com can exclusively reveal.
Born in Italy to parents of Nigerian descent, Kayode is an U21 international for Italy despite his current status as one of the best right full backs in the English Premier League.
Head coach of the Nigerian team Eric Chelle has a meeting with him scheduled for month in London, and talks will be on convincing the 21 year old to switch his interactions allegiance to Nigeria.
However such talks have already suffered a setback with the agent of Kayode confident that the interim coach of Italy Silvio Baldini, who is Kayode’s coach at U21 level will give him his first senior call up in May.
Reports in Italy say Kayode is expected to be part of the rebuilding process of the Italian national team, who have failed to qualify for three consecutive world cup editions.
