Football icon Lionel Messi was very impressed with the performance of Nigeria international midfielder Alhassan Yusuf is Inter Miami’s 1-1 draw against New England Revolution, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.
Yusuf was up against the Argentine and dominated proceedings further underlining his rating as one of the best midfielders in the league after the first nine games of the season in the US.
The 25 year old was singled out by Messi for praises after the game citing his influence in helping the team defend, and also set up attack with quick feet and transitional play.
” Messi was impressed by his performance and spoke with him after the game. He has started the season really well and in the league at the moment he is among the leading midfielders”, MLS expert Tom Cannon explained.
” He is still very young and can return to a top European side in the nearest future if he maintains his current performance. A lot of European teams now scout in the MLS and Yusuf will no doubt be in the picture for a summer transfer”, he stated.
