Nigeria international and Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen has been dragged to court by car manufacturers Mercedes Benz following his refusal to pay up a debt he incurred in 2023, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.
Osimhen signed the contract in 2023 while he was still playing in Italy, but the unpaid installments, and the SUV were not returned upon expiration of the lease deal leading to the decision to sue him.
According to Il Giorno, the twenty-seven-year-old Lagos native has been reported for an alleged four-figure debt in the past few hours. A report which has gone viral in Italy where he represented Napoli and fired them to their first league title in 33 years.
The legal representative of Mercedes-Benz Financial Services Italia SpA filed a complaint against Osimhen with the Crescenzago Carabinieri station. He is expected to respond to the charge through his legal representative.
