His name doesn’t ring a bell when discussing possible options for the senior national team of Nigeria especially when it comes to players with dual nationality, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.
However the name Jay Enem is a household name in Serbia after hitting 16 goals for league giants Crvena Zvezda, where he is on loan from fellow Serbian side OFK Belgrade.
A graduate of the famous Ajax academy in the Netherlands he ended the season with 16 goals and three assists, and it has opened the door on talks about a move in the summer to a top league.
Teams in the Netherlands, Belgium, Turkey and in the Gulf region are said to be showing interest in the 23 year old, who in the coming months will have to make a choice on his international future.
Eligible for Nigeria and the Netherlands, he hasn’t been capped by either countries at any level. A situation that can change if he ends up making a move to a top league and replicate the form he had last season.
