Head coach of the senior national team of Nigeria Eric Chelle will begin his tour of match venues in the NIgeria Premier Football League (NPFL) this week , OwngoalNigeria.com reports.
Chelle will watch a couple of games in the Nigerian league to pick players for the upcoming friendly tournament tagged Unity Cup in London next month.
Already he has said he will use the tournament to try out new players and also give opportunities to players in the Nigerian domestic league, before switching to his more regular players for the high profile friendly games against Poland and Portugal respectively.
” It’s easy to tell the kind of players that Chelle will be looking to scout for the Super Eagles. Top of it is that the player must be young that is not more than 23 years old. Another thing is he must be willing and able to run and press high up the pitch”, a source close to the coach revealed.
” So any player in the NPFL who has been a regular and possess all of the above qualities will no doubt get a look in”, he concluded.
