Ikorodu City midfielder Tosin Oyedokun was among five players who left a good impression on the coach of the senior national team of Nigeria Eric Chelle as they stepped up preparation for Tuesday’s game against Zimbabwe in the Unity Cup.

He showed good composure on the ball using his very good left foot to pick out passes, win balls and also thrice showed his ability to shoot from range. So good that Chelle mentioned him in an interview with London based Nigerian journalist Austine Okon Akpan.

“Some of them are good with the ball, like Tosin, who plays for Ikorodu City. But the most important thing is that they try to understand what we want for this team”, he told Austine after their first training session.

Another player who impressed the coach was Millwall winger Femi Azeez, despite deploying him in a rather unfamiliar position just behind the main striker.

Wrexham goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo also gave a good account of himself during the shooting drills, a form that could see him make his international debut in the course of the tournament.

Rafiu Durosinmi of relegated Italian Serie A side Pisa also showed his finishing prowess with the manner he took his chances during a goal scoring drill. Chelle was very impressed.
