Three players who are on the radar of the coach of the senior national team of Nigeria Eric Chelle have been called up to the senior national team of Italy by new coach Silvio Baldini, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.
Chelle has been busy in the recruitment of players with dual nationality, and has his sight set on the Italian-Nigerian quartet of Jeff Ekhator, Lucas Koleosho, Michael Kayode and Honest Ahanor.
Talks were planned to be held during the off season with the trio of Kayode, Koleosho and Ekhator after Ahanor made it clear that he only wants Italy.
However that plan has suffered a setback with the trio of Ekhator, Koleosho and Ahanor named in the squad for upcoming friendly games against Luxembourg and Greece.
Kayode who cancelled a planned meeting with Chelle with the assurance that he will be handed his first call up to the Italian team was snubbed.
