Head coach of the senior national team of Nigeria Eric Chelle has listed the key things the team is aiming to achieve by taking part in the Unity Cup, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.

Chelle will line up a team largely made up of home based and fringe players from selected teams in Europe for today’s game against Zimbabwe, with seven of the invited players unavailable for the opener.

The coach is however not allowing the absence of the players to bother him ahead of today’s opener, and he listed what he intends to achieve with the tournament, which includes winning the tournament for the second year in a row.

“I have a goal and objective for this tournament. This first objective is giving an opportunity to show what we can do and show with our team. We have some new and former players. I want to give them a chance to show something. This is our main goal”, he explained .

Chelle added: “We have some seven players in the league and we have some players playing in Europa but the reality is when you watch the stats they need to play. The first opportunity is to give an opportunity, the second objective of course, when you play, you want to win,”

“We are not on holiday, we work, we have two training sessions yesterday and the day before and of course we do everything to win the big game against Zimbabwe.”
