Millwall winger Femi Azeez made an instant impression for the senior national team of Nigeria with a brace in their 2-0 win over Zimbabwe in the opening game of the Unity Cup, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.
Azeez wasted no time in making his mark when he unleashed a left foot drive to open scoring for Nigeria in the 4th minute.
The debutant wasn’t done yet as he scored his second goal of the game in the second half, two minutes after the hour mark to give the Super Eagles a two goal cushion.
His display has shown why head coach of the senior team of Nigeria Eric Chelle pull all the stop to cap him for Nigeria ahead of England. The 24 year old made the team of the year in the English Championship.
Chelle liken his style of play to that of Bayern Munich French winger of Nigerian descent Michael Olise, and he showed why in his first game for Nigeria.
Super Eagles will wait for the winner of the second semi final game of the tournament between India and Jamaica in the final of the tournament, where they are the defending champions.
