Millwall winger Femi Azeez got his international career off to a flying start with a brace in his debut game to hand Nigeria a 2-0 win over Zimbabwe and a spot in the final of the Unity Cup tournament, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.

Azeez wasted no time in making his mark with a goal in the 4th minute before adding another two minutes after the half hour mark, sealing a dream debut.

Voted in the English Championship team of the season, and also nominated for the MVP of the league, he ended last season with 11 goals and eight assists.

However he said finding the back of the net for Nigeria in his first game felt different from the other goals that he has scored this season.

” The feeling was totally different from scoring for my club and words can’t quite explain it but credit has to go to the rest of the team. The lads played really well and although we were playing together for the first time it didn’t feel like that”, he said in an exclusive interview with OwnGoalNigeria.com.

” We have to quickly take our mind off this game and focus on the final. That’s what I think is on the mind of the rest of the lads as well”, he concluded.
