Three players of the senior national team of Nigeria have been told they won’t be signing a permanent deal following the expiration of their loan deal with the conclusion of the season, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.
Samuel Chukwueze who spent the entire season on loan to Fulham in the English Premier League from AC Milan won’t be signed permanently, and will return to his parent club at the end of the season.
His tally of 3 goals and four assists in 23 games wasn’t deemed sufficient enough to bag him an extended stay. Fulham have already informed AC Milan of the decision not to take up the option of signing him permanently.
Striker Terem Moffi who was at FC Porto for the second half of last season after he was attacked by fans of French Ligue 1 side Nice is also set for a return. Porto who won the league turned down the chance of keeping him on a permanent deal.
In Moffi’s loan, an €8m buy option was included. However, it won’t be triggered. In 15 games, he scored just twice. He therefore returns to Nice, where he has just one year remaining on his contract.
He won’t remain with Le Gym, however. The Ligue 1 side will look to find a new club for the Nigeria international.
Midfielder Joe Aribo has also been told that he won’t be retained at Leicester City following their relegation from the Championship. He will return to Southampton where his contract will run out next month.
