Former coach of the senior national team of Nigeria Jose Peseiro is among the options of assistants available to Jose Mourinho who is expected to be named the new coach of Real Madrid, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.
Mourinho’s appointment is expected to be made official after the Real Madrid presidential election, where current president Florentino Perez is expected to be re-elected.
He has already given his backing to the hiring of the Portuguese, and Peseiro who worked with Mourinho during his previous spell at the club is among five names touted as possible assistants to Mourinho.
Currently in charge of Saudi Arabia second division side Al- Ula FC he is one of the longest serving ally of Mourinho, and he won’t have any problem leaving his present job for Real Madrid if the opportunity arises.
In the application that got him the job of the senior national team of Nigeria, he named Mourinho as one of his referees and it played a part in getting the job. He led Nigeria to a second place finish at the AFCON two years ago but left after the expiration of his contract.
