The camp of the senior national team of Nigeria is yet to have the full compliment of the invited players for Wednesday’s friendly game against Poland, OwnGoalNigeria.com can exclusively reveal.
Nigeria defended the Unity Cup title on Saturday with a 3-0 win over Jamaica in the final, and have now switched their attention to the game against Poland which head coach Eric Chelle named a his best set of players for.
However it’s looking like the coach will now be forced into calling players from around Europe who don’t need a visa to travel to Poland, due to the failure of some of the invited players to secure visas adding to the numbers of players who won’t be available.
As at the time of this report Chelle has just 12 players available including senior players in captain Wilfred Ndidi, Moses Simon, Paul Onuachu and Francis Uzoho who flew with the team from London after the Unity Cup.
More players are expected to be in the camp before their first training session this evening, and those who can’t make it will likely be around for tomorrow’s evening session before the game.
