Chelsea defender Tosin Adarabioyo is hopeful of making the squad of the senior national team of Nigeria for the 2027 AFCON, OwnGoalNigeria.com can exclusively reveal.
Tosin who has represented England at various youth levels has long maintained that he wants to continue playing for England, since he was first approached to play for Nigeria in 2017.
However towards the end of last season he made it clear that he is open to playing for the senior national team of Nigeria. A departure from his stand over the years leaving the ball in the court of Eric Chelle to make a decision.
The coach isn’t favourable disposed to the idea of having the 28 year old in his team yet, but Tosin is hopeful that in due time he will get his chance with the team and has his sights on the 2027 AFCON.
” His target is the next AFCON and hopefully he will have a good season with Chelsea. He is on of the senior players in the team and his experience will be helpful to the Super Eagles if he is given a chance”, a member of his team told OwnGoalNigeria.com.
