Head coach of the senior national team of Nigeria Eric Chelle who also doubles as the coach of the U23 team of Nigeria has received a list of players eligible to represent the team at the next Olympic games qualifiers, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.
Chelle is tasked with ensuring that Nigeria make it to the football event of the Olympic for the first time in ten years, and he is leaving no stone unturned in the quest.
His idea is to build a core from players playing in lowly rated European Leagues and from teams based in Nigeria. He has already started with the foreign based players.
Sources say his scouts have identified over 40 players eligible for the team from leagues in Europe, and about 30 have also been scouted locally for the same purpose.
The list we understand includes some players who have been involved with the Super Eagles as recently as the Unity Cup tournament in London, which the team won by beating Jamaica 3-0 in the final.
