Head coach of the senior national team of Nigeria Eric Chelle is still keen on getting a new top striker for the senior national team of Nigeria to compliment main striker Victor Osimhen, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.
Chelle isn’t entirely convinced with the options at his disposal, and has made the search for a top striker a priority and it’s why he has his eyes on the duo of Peter Prosper and George Ilenikhena, despite their eligibility for France.
Another player who is of interest to the coach is Brentford young forward Kaye Furo, the son of former Nigeria international defender Furo Iyenemi who is presently a youth international for Belgium.
Although his father isn’t quite disposed to the idea is his son playing for Nigeria, his stand has soften lately and it could open the door for a chance with the Super Eagles.
19 year old Kaye was also in Nigeria for the first time during the break, another pointer to the fact that he is embracing his roots. However his immediate priority will be trying to nail a spot in the team of Brentford after his January transfer.
He made just one appearance last season, but he is highly rated at the club and they believe he will continue to grow.
