Newly appointed coach of AC Milan Ruben Amorim has confirmed that Nigeria international winger Samuel Chukwueze will remain at the club, following his return from a loan spell at English Premier League side Fulham.
Like we exclusively reported he had an offer from Turkish side Trabzonspor but turned it down in favour of a return to Milan, where he has been promised a new lease of life by Amorim.
Last season Chukwueze made 26 appearances in all competitions during his loan spell, including 23 in the Premier League.
He finished with three goals and four assists, but Fulham passed on the obligation of signing him permanently, leading to his return to Milan.
Confirming the decision to keep the winger, Amorim gave reasons why the 27 year old won’t be leaving the club in the summer transfer window.
“Chukwu stays with us,” Amorim said. “We need players who can play one-against-one. I think Chukwueze has really great qualities to be in our team and gives us alternatives to play with other systems.”
