Relegated English Premier League side Wolverhampton Wanderers have been left shocked by the desire of Nigerian striker Tolu Arokodare to join Italian Serie A side Fiorentina, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.
Arokodare joined the team last summer from Belgium side Genk, and failed to deliver with just three goals in 33 games with the team suffering relegation.
The club were open to his exit and reached an agreement with Turkish side Trabzonspor for his sale, but the striker turned down the opportunity in preference of a move to Fiorentina.
Fiorentina failed with their initial bid but have now returned with an improved offer that hasn’t matched what Trabzonspor were willing to pay for the 25 year old.
Trabzonspor offered him better terms than Fiorentina but he is adamant that he wants a move to Italy, and not Turkey.
A situation that has left the club in shock but with no choice than to negotiate his release. He was left out of their team for pre season training in Portugal.
