Newly capped Nigeria international striker Rafiu Durosinmi is close to completing his transfer to Belgium top division side Genk from relegated Italian side Pisa, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.

Genk won the race for his signing despite a strong push from Turkish side Trabzonspor, who were to pay more in terms of personal terms than the Belgians.

As reported by Sky journalist Gianluca Di Marzio the deal is set to be concluded for a fee in the range of €10 and €11 million, but Pisa will also benefit from bonuses and a 20% share of any future resale.

Furthermore, it should be noted that the player also has a release clause set at €18 million. This could prove useful, considering that Durosinmi remains one of the promising players in football and could find a better future in Belgium.

The January signing didn’t have the best of time in Italy and despite having a running contract till the summer of 2030. He scored just one goal and an assist in 12 games totalling 430 minutes.
