The sports director of Sevilla José Ignacio Navarro has explained the situation surrounding the transfer of Nigeria international forward Akor Adams to newly promoted Italian Serie A side Venezia, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.
Reports say Sevilla have already agreed a €16m transfer of the Nigerian to Venezia to make space in their books for the registration of the players newly signed by the club.
Speaking at the Ramon Sánchez-Pizjuán during the end of the presentations of Jon Guridi, Juan Iglesias and Arouna Sangante. The head of the sports area has explained the situations of Akor Adams with the Venezia and Tanguy Nianzou with the Lille.
“These are two players we’re in negotiations with. Obviously, we’re in open negotiations with two clubs, okay? At this point, until it’s official, anything can happen, in any sense, in football. Until everything is signed and announced, you can’t speculate on anything, because it could be subject to change.”
He however said without any high profile departure, the club won’t be able to register any of their new. “We have no options to register players as of today unless we transfer a player and generate that limit to be able to register these new players.”
