Head coach of the senior national team of Nigeria Eric Chelle has made his biggest capture since he started the process of convincing players with dual nationality to play for the senior national team of Nigeria, OwnGoalNigeria.com can exclusively reveal.
Chelle has been keen on getting the best available players to play for his team, particularly in attack where he is determined to get a good option to Victor Osimhen as the team’s top striker.
He had two players as his major targets in Peter Prosper of French side Angers and George Ilenikhena who left Monaco in January for Saudi Arabia side Al-Ittihad.
Per what we exclusively gathered, he has succeeded in luring Ilenikhena to his team, after chasing him for almost a year.
The 19 year old was born in Nigeria but relocated to France at a very young age with his family. He initial didn’t give a favourable response to playing for Nigeria but has now decided to have a change of mind.
He won’t be needing any change of nationality process as he hasn’t been capped by France at any level. He is expected to become a part of the team for the AFCON qualifiers in September against Tanzania.
