Nigeria international striker Tolu Arokodare has been offered an escape from English Championship side Wolverhampton Wanderers by Dutch giants Ajax, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.
Arokodare was in the news after he forced the team to cancel their training session, by insisting on taking part despite been told by the coach that he isn’t permitted to train with the team.
He has seen a proposed move to Italian side Fiorentina fall through, and the frustration of the failed deal has made him more determined to leave the club before the close of the summer transfer window.
There is the option of Turkish side Trabzonspor on the table, and another Italian side Genoa has also been credited in an interest in the lanky forward who joined Wolves last summer from Genk.
But like we exclusively reported last week about the interest of Dutch giants Ajax, an agreement has now been found for his signing, which will be an initial loan deal with the option of signing him permanently for a free slightly above €20m.
Despite the arrival of Marcos Leonardo, given the likely departure of Kasper Dolberg. Arokodare is seen as an added bullet in attack after Wout Weghorst left on a free transfer and Chuba Akpom did not return either, while Don-Angelo Konadu is available for loan and Julian Rijkhoff has no future at the club.
