Barring a last minute twist newly capped Nigeria international defender Chibuike Nwaiwu will be in England later this week for a routine medical before signing for Fulham, OwnGoalNigeria.com can exclusively reveal.
The 22 year old has been a subject of interest to Fulham but Turkish side Trabzonspor are refusing to let him go unless their valuation is met. The situation is said to have unsettled the lanky defender.
He joined them six months ago from Austrian side Wolfsberger during the January transfer window, but has done so well to get the attention of the senior national team coach of Nigeria Eric Chelle.
Fellow English Premier League side Crystal Palace are also watching the talks about his future with keen interest, but sources say they are yet to officially communicate their interest to Trabzonspor.
Nwaiwu has already agreed personal terms with Fulham described by his representatives as a life changing deal. He presently on a salary of $700,000 a year at Trabzonspor
According to Turkish sports daily Fanatik, the Cottagers have offered the Nigeria international an annual salary of about 2.5 million euros (approximately N4 billion).
