Head coach of the senior national team of Nigeria Eric Chelle has been forced into making two changes to the Super Eagles squad for today’s AFCON 2027 qualifiers against Guinea-Bissau, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.

Nigeria will go into the top of the table clash without the services of their captain Wilfred Ndidi, and also first choice winger Samuel Chukwueze. Both players started in the 2-1 win against Madagascar on Friday.

We can exclusively reveal that Chelle has also picked Alex Iwobi to lead the team as captain, and there is the likelihood of a first start from LASK winger Moses Usor, who marked his debut with a beautiful solo goal against Madagascar.

The good news is that 20 year old forward George Ilenikhena has been passed fit for the game, and will start in a three man attack with Akor Adams and Ademola Lookman judging by yesterday’s training.

Coventry City midfielder Frank Onyeka will replace the captain Ndidi in the midfield, with Chelle reverting to the 4-4-2 diamond. A formation he switched from to 4-3-2-1 in the second half against Madagascar.
