
Chibuzo Nwoko has been a revelation in training with the senior national team of Nigeria ahead of the game against Russia on Tuesday, OwnGoalNigeria.com can exclusively reveal.
The 20 year old who has one first team appearance to his name this season was handed a first time call up to the Nigerian team, with the idea that he features more for the U23 team who will represent Nigeria at the Olympic.
However head coach of the Nigerian team Eric Chelle want to use the game against Russia to see them at close quarters, and he has been heavily impressed with Nwoko after two training sessions.
Capable of playing as a six, eight or 10, Chibby is just as adept breaking up play as he is finishing off attacks in the final third like Alex Iwobi, a senior international for Nigeria who is also his teammate at Fulham.
In 2026, Chibby impressed during a loan spell at Forest Green Rovers. He started 17 games in a row for the National League side. He will be targeting a starting spot tomorrow in a Nigerian team that has been heavily decimated by players withdrawal, injuries and visa issues.
