Kelechi Iheanacho scored his 12th goal of the season for second division Turkish side Bursaspor in their 1-2 defeat to Mardin BB in the ninth round of games in the league.
A free transfer signing from Scottish side Celtic he was rewarded for his performance so far in Turkey with a spot in the Super Eagles team for the friendly game against Russia. His first invitation in three years.
He made the most of it by scoring the opener for a young Nigerian side that went on to draw 3-3 against Russia, and recent reports say he will keep his spot in the team for the upcoming AFCON 2027 qualifiers double header against Tanzania in November.
His form has not only attracted the attention of head coach of Nigeria Eric Chelle with reports from Turkey having it that he is on the radar of giants, although no team was mentioned.
According to Turkish outlet Fotomac, Iheanacho’s prolific run has attracted interest from several major clubs, with the former Celtic star now said to be on the “radar of giants.”
