The joint top scorer in the Turkish League Gift Orban has not been cleared by FIFA to play for Nigeria at senior national team level, OwnGoalNigeria.com can exclusively reveal.
Reports in some section of the Nigerian media says he has been given the all clear to play for Nigeria, after he was barred from playing for Nigeria following his maiden invitation.
There were claims from Togo that the 24 year old played for the Togolese team with a different name and identity in a CHAN qualifiers, before switching to a Nigerian name and identity.
It made then head coach Jose Peseiro to leave him out of the team for the 6-0 win over Sao Tome and Principe, and since then he hasn’t been involved with the team.
This season he has hit a rich vein of form with Turkish side Amed SK with seven goals, the same with Mo Salah at the top of the league’s highest goal scorer chart.
The reports that went viral that he has been cleared were wide off the mark, and sources in the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), and the National Sports Commission (NSC) say it will be better to keep him out to avoid any identity or eligibility crisis.
