Head coach of Brighton and Hove Albion Fabian Hurzeler has revealed why Nigerian duo of Femi Azeez and Zadok Yohanna weren’t listed in their Europa League game against FK Kauno Žalgiris of Lithuania, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.
Azeez who has two caps for the senior national team of Nigeria hasn’t made his debut since his transfer from Millwall, while Zadok another summer signing from Swedish side AIK has already made his debut in this tournament.
However the Ikon Allah Academy graduate wasn’t listed for today’s game, and Azeez who was widely expected to make his debut also misses out forcing the coach to explain their absence.
“Some players need more time to adapt to the intensity. It’s a little bit similar to Zadok (Yohanna) that we try to give them the environment where they can adapt to our demands, to how we want to play”, he explained.
“These kinds of players might need a little bit longer but there’s not a big issue, something I can report to you.
“Just a thing of adapting and let’s see how fast he will adapt and then I’m sure that he will make his first team debut quite soon.”
