Head coach of the U23 team of Nigeria Eric Chelle has invited Ukraine based goalkeeper Abdulmajeed Danladi to the team ahead of their U23 AFCON qualifiers games against DR Congo, OwnGoalNigeria.com can exclusively reveal.
Chelle who also doubles as the head coach of the senior national team of Nigeria was impressed by what he saw of the Kryvbas U21 goalkeeper.
The 20 year old has also made the bench of the first team for league games this season, completing a rapid rise from the U19 two years ago.
He is expected to join the team in DR Congo for the first leg of the two legged qualifiers, before they return home for the second tie. The Nigerian team will be a mix of players picked from teams in Nigeria and some from clubs abroad.
It’s unclear if he will be the first choice, with Eric Chelle also set to call up three other goalkeepers from the Nigeria Premier Football League ( NPFL), and two others who are based abroad.
