Head coach of the senior national team of Nigeria Eric Chelle is set to make public his list of players for the upcoming AFCON 2028 qualifiers against Tanzania next week, OwnGoalNigeria.com can exclusively reveal.
The coach who is the expected to pick four strikers is sure of three names in top striker Victor Osimhen, Akor Adams and new kid on the block George Ilenikhena.
It leaves space for one more striker and the duo of Kelechi Iheanacho and Tolu Arokodare are the front runners to pick the one remaining slot, however 31 year old Cyriel Dessers stands an outside chance.
A favourite of Chelle who took him to the AFCON, where Injuries meant he sat out the entirety of the tournament, but he has put that disappointment behind him with nine goals in 15 games in all competitions.
Dessers has three in the Greek League, three in the Europa Conference League, where he also scored three times in the qualifiers.
