18 year old Bayer Leverkusen goalkeeper Simeon Rapsch is at cross roads regarding his international future with Germany sending him a counter invitation to their U19, OwnGoalNigeria.com can exclusively reveal.

The highly rated shot stopper stands at an impressive height of almost 2 metres, and has trained with the first team of the German side a couple of times while maintaining his position as the first choice of the B team.

Rapsch was approached by the head coach of the senior national team of Nigeria Eric Chelle to play for the U23 team, where his progress will be monitored for a possible promotion to the main team.

Chelle we can exclusively reveal spoke with the representative of the goalkeeper, who organised a meeting with the boy’s parent and a decision was reached on playing for Nigeria.

However soon after the decision, an invitation came from Germany U19 which has now created doubts, and possibly he could shun the invitation from Nigeria.

Although all parties involved are still in touch, the player was capped by Germany U19, meaning any invitation will have to see him apply for a switch of nationality.
