Hull City midfielder Tim Iroegbunam has submitted all the relevant documents for his switch of nationality from England to Nigeria, OwnGoalNigeria.com can exclusively reveal.

The 23 year old who joined Hull City from Everton in the summer was born in England to parents of Nigerian descent, and already played for their youth teams at different times in his career.

However he recently accepted to play for Nigeria, after holding talks with head coach of the Nigerian team Eric Chelle and immediately applied for a switch of nationality process.

Chelle has been active in convincing players of Nigerian descent playing at a top level to commit to Nigeria. A trend which he says is what most African teams are doing.

We can exclusively reveal that he has already obtained a Nigerian passport, and he is getting help from a family member who is experienced in matters like this. Although he can’t be a part of the team for the upcoming games in the AFCON qualifiers.
