The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) is waiting on a reply from English Premier League side Brighton and Hove Albion on the invitation of Zadok Yohanna to the U23 team of Nigeria, OwnGoalNigeria.com can exclusively reveal.

Zadok officially received his letter of invitation to the Nigerian team for the upcoming U23 AFCON qualifiers games against DR Congo, a two legged game for a place in the final round of qualifiers for the tournament.

The tournament is mainly the qualifiers for the male football event of the Los Angeles Olympic. The last time Nigeria featured at the event was in 2016 and Chelle is keen on ending the absence.

Brighton are reluctant to let Zadok travel for the game as he only recently returned to first team training after a long term absence due to injury. They feel he isn’t ready yet and will be better places to stay behind and get minutes with their youth team to build his match fitness and readiness.

However the player is adamant that he wants to play in the game, and already told his representative his decision in the hope that an agreement can be reached for him to join the Nigerian team, after missing out on two previous occasions.
