Head coach of the Nigeria U23 team Eric Chelle has extended invitation to two players plying their trade in the Czech Republic top division, OwnGoalNigeria.com can exclusively reveal.
Pardubice duo of Emmanuel Godwin and Victor Samuel were contacted by Chelle, who also doubles as the coach of the senior national team of Nigeria.
The coach wanted to confirm their availability for the upcoming back to back U23 AFCON qualifiers games against DR Congo, and they confirmed their readiness.
Godwin is a utility player known for his pace and confidence on the ball, and is comfortable playing on the right or left back position as well as on the wings, while Samuel is a forward who can also play on that wings. Both players haven’t missed a game this season in Czech Republic.
They are now expected to add to the number of foreign based players called up for the game to join players picked from teams in Nigeria, who are already in camp for the game.
Like we exclusively reported, the coach will drop as many as 18 players from the 30 he called up from the Nigerian scene to make way for the invited foreign based.
