Slavia Prague winger Emmanuel Anyaosi who has impressed this season in the UEFA Champions League (UCL) was largely expected to get a look in to be a part of the senior national team of Nigeria for the upcoming AFCON qualifiers games against Tanzania.
Anyaosi has played every minute for Slavia in the UCL this season and bagged his sole goal contribution in the 2-2 draw against Fenerbahce’s. He provided the assist that helped them overturn a two goal deficit to tie the game.
Chelle who is aware of the 22 year old winger and called his teammate David Moses to his team and Mubarak Suleiman to the U23 team, shunned Anyaosi who has played more minutes than the aforementioned duo.
Owngoalnigeria.com can exclusively reveal that Anyaosi was proposed to the coach as a potential replacement for the injured Samuel Chukwueze, but the coach felt he isn’t ready yet and instead settled for Philip Otele of FC Basle.
Otele already has four caps for the senior national team of Nigeria and Chelle feels it’s safer to have him than another new player consisting the importance of the games.
