Top striker of the senior national team of Nigeria Victor Osimhen won’t be available for the senior national team of Nigeria when they take on Tanzania in the AFCON qualifiers, OwnGoalNigeria.com can exclusively reveal.
Osimhen missed the first two games of the series against Madagascar and Guinea-Bissau respectively, but was expected to be available for the back to back game against Tanzania.
However Galatasary just announced that the forward picked up an injury in their UEFA Champions League win over Stuggart, and will undergo a medical process that will keep him out for a while.
“In the UEFA Champions League match we played against VfB Stuttgart, our player Victor Osimhen sustained a strain in his left knee, and MRI examinations detected a loose body. An arthroscopic knee surgery will be performed tomorrow at Maslak Acıbadem Hospital by our club doctor Yener İnce. For this reason, our player has been removed from the squad for tomorrow’s match against Amed S. F.”, the club announced.
It will be the seventh game of the Super Eagles in a row that the forward has missed, since the AFCON semi final defeat to Morocco in January.
