Head coach of the senior national team of Nigeria Eric Chelle has told Eintracht Frankfurt defender Jeremiaha Maluze to snub any potential call up from Germany, OwnGoalNigeria.com can exclusively reveal.

The 21 year old is having his breakthrough season at the Bundesliga side after making the step up from the youth team. He has played in two Bundesliga games and two German Cup games so far.

Born to immigrant Nigerian parents in Germany, he is eligible for both countries but hasn’t been capped by both nations at any level making him eligible for Nigeria. He already declared that he is open to the idea.

However head coach of the Nigerian team Eric Chelle feels at the moment he isn’t ahead of the current options in Semi Ajayi, Calvin Bassey, Benjamin Fredrick, Chibuike Nwaiwu and Emmanuel Fernandez.

He feels the above mentioned five players are better placed in his team at the moment, but Ajayi will likely be available for one more year or tournament before exiting the scene. He is already 32.

Chelle urged the defender who can also play in midfield to keep his options open and not to be in a hurry to commit his international future to Germany.
