Zamalek Star Moruf Yusuf Gatecrash Eagles Squad For France Camp

The coach of the Super Eagles of Nigeria Gernot Rohr has called up Zamalek of Egypt star Moruf Yusuf to join the Eagles squad for their get together in France.

The official list of players called up for the game will be released by the coach next week, with Moruf the shock name in the list which has been delayed by a week.

‎An assistant of the Franco-German coach contacted the 24 year old who can also play as a left back aside his original role as a midfielder. The move by the coach is to provide cover for regular left back Elderson Echiejile.

Moruf will team up with the squad for their camping in France and could play in the friendly game against Corsica, which will serve as the build up as part of the preparation for the AFCON 2019 Qualifiers against South Africa.

Liverpool loanee Taiwo Awoniyi scored his first goal for his loan side NEC Nijmegen to hand them all three points against Europa League hopefuls AZ Alkmaar.

Moses Simon In Race Against Time To Be Fit For Eagles Camp In France

Super Eagles forward Moses Simon is facing a race to be fit for the team camping exercise in France later in the month after picking up a hamstring injury for his Belgian side KAA Gent.

According to a statement on the official twitter handle of the Belgium side, the 21 year old picked up a hamstring injury in training, and subsequently missed the game against Oostende.

Simon has emerged as one of the important players of the team towards the end of the season after a poor start, and his form has been cited as one of the reasons for the fine run of Gent in the playoffs.

A senior international with Nigeria, he is one of the names pencilled down by coach Gernot Rohr for a get together in France, ahead of their AFCON 2017 Qualifiers against South Africa next month.

The length of time he will be out injured is yet to be ascertained as at the time of filing in this report, but hamstring injuries usually takes a month to heal, and if his happens to be the same, he will miss the Eagles training camp in France.

However he might yet be fit for the AFCON 2019 Qualifiers against South Africa on the 10th of June in Uyo, if he makes a quick recovery as expected.

Serie A champions in waiting Juventus escaped derby defeat at the hands of their city rivals Torino thanks to a late goal from Gonzalo Higuain which helped them to a 1-1 draw at the Juventus Stadium.

‎Adem Ljajic gave Torino the lead in the 52nd minute but five minutes later they were reduced to 10 men following the sending off of Afriyie Acquah for two bookable offences.

Former Nigeria U-23 shot stopper Emmanuel Daniel could make his Premier South Africa League (PSL) debut for Orlando Pirates against Mamelodi Sundowns, Owngoalnigeria.com can exclusively reveal.
