Osimhen Fails To Make Debut For Wolfsburg In Final Bundesliga Game Of The Season

0

Wolfsburg are still not mathematically save from relegation despite winning their final game of the season by two goals to nil against Eintracht Frankfurt in the Bundesliga.

Daniel Didavi and Mario Gomes got the goals for Wolfsburg but the club still face an anxious wait until tomorrow when Mainz 05 take on Hamburg as both teams are three points behind them, and hold a superior goal difference.

A victory for any of the side will drag Wolfsburg into the relegation playoffs against the third placed team from the second division to preserve their top flight status.

Nigerian forward Victor Osimhen who made the matchday squad for the first time since his move Wolfsburg became official in January sat out the entire duration of the game as coach Andries Jonker preferred to bring on Jakob Blaszczykowski, Yunus Malli and Veirinha as his three substitutes.

A combination of injuries and fitness issues has denied the highly rated forward his debut, although he could still make his debut before the season officially ends in Germany, if they are involved in the play-offs.

Siasia Advises Eagles Coach Rohr On How Best To Use Iwobi, Victor Moses, Ndidi, Iheanacho & Success

0

Former Super Eagles coach Samson Siasia says the Super Eagles of Nigeria will play best if the coach of the team Gernot Rohr plays Arsenal forward Alex Iwobi in the number 10 role.

Presently captain of the Super Eagles John Obi Mikel plays as the playmaker ‎of the team while Iwobi plays from the left in Rohr’s 4-3-3 formation, but Siasia wants Rohr to switch to 4-4-2 and play Iwobi as the playmaker of the team.

” Talking about a 4-4-2 system, Rohr should involve Watford wing attacker Isaac Success playing from the left wing‎, Chelsea Victor Moses from the right wing while Iheanacho should play as the top striker of the team. This would be very potent attack line for the Eagles and would surely deliver against any team”, Siasia said.

” Playing Iwobi as Eagles playmaker alongside Ndidi with Success and Moses ahead of him will bring the best out of him. Alex can create lots of goals with his good vision and passes and he can score goals too. The only thing he is working on for now is his defensive ability which I believe other players in Eagles can help to cover up.

“Like I said Alex will excel as a play maker for the Super Eagles but he can still operate from both sides of the wing attack and forward too”, he added.

0

Manchester City Nigerian forward Kelechi Iheanacho will leave the club at the end of the season according to his adviser Olumide Oluwo.

Oluwo believes the coach didn’t give the forward enough opportunities to prove himself, as he preferred Brazilian forward Gabriel Jesus since his signing in January.

When pressed over possible destination of his client, who as exclusively reported by this portal has been granted permission to speak with German club Hoffeinheim, Oluwo confirmed there are clubs in Germany interested in Iheanacho.

West Brom Target Moses Simon Reacts To €20m Price Tag Placed On Him By Gent

0

Gent forward Moses Simon who is reportedly a target for English Premier League side West Brom and French side Monaco has reacted to the €20m price tag slammed on him by his team.

Simon who has been at the club for three seasons is keen on a move away this summer, and while Gent admit he could be on the move, technical director Michael Louwagie pegged his price tag at €20m.

“I still think so (that Simon is worth €20 million),” Louwagie told Voetbalmagazine.

“Why are they able to sell in the Netherlands for amounts more than €30 million? Where is Memphis Depay now who PSV sold to Manchester United? Vincent Janssen, AZ’s top scorer, went to Tottenham and hasn’t played much. Simon is better. The trend is reversed: Wilfred Ndidi (joined Leicester City) in December, a few Anderlecht boys too”.

Reacting the soft spoken Simon, who has five goals to his name this season said issues regarding his transfer is usually handled by his intermediary and club.

” ‎€20m, am I that expensive? , we’ll find out in the coming days either from my club or agent. My job is to play football, there are people who handle that aspect of my career”, Simon told Owngoalnigeria.com.

Dutch Coach – Liverpool Loanee Awoniyi Lacks Proper Football Education , He’s Getting One Now

0

On loan Liverpool Nigerian forward Taiwo Awoniyi isn’t getting enough games at Dutch side NEC Nijmegen as the forward is yet to get proper football education according to coach Peter Hyballa.

Awoniyi joined Liverpool two summers ago after starring for the Nigeria U20 and 23 team, and was immediately farmed out on loan to German side FSV Frankfurt. Where he spent a season but failed to save them from relegation to the third division.

At the start of this season, he was loaned out to Dutch side NEC Nijmegen, where he has struggled to get games after a fine start to life in the Netherlands, he failed to add goals to his game, and it cost him his spot in the team.

Recently, he won back the trust of the coach and started in their last two games, but he is yet to find the back of the net, and there is every chance he could suffer another relegation as the team are currently battling to stay in the top division in Holland.

Eric Schipper of Field Of Anfield Road (FOAR) met with the coach who revealed the Nigerian forward is some way away from reaching his potentials due to some basic skills which he lacks.

“So when Taiwo left, I “bumped into” Peter Hyballa as mentioned before. And we had a bit of a talk with him. Hyballa gave us a great insight in Taiwo, both as a player and a person. Technically Taiwo’s ability on the ball is the thing he needs to work on the most. Peter basically told us he’s a very young lad who lacked a proper football education and he’s getting one now. Which can only be a good thing for Taiwo.

As said before, Taiwo is a special kid. He works extremely hard and is fully focussed on football. Hyballa had to admit that perhaps it’s too much as you need to relax and let it all hang loose once in a while. For Taiwo it’s football and religion. Peter couldn’t really remember how the transfer went down, whether LFC approached NEC or the other way around, but Hyballa had seen Taiwo play for Frankfurt and liked what he saw”.
