Odey received the offer few weeks ago, and it came with flight tickets, accommodation and medical expenses, plus full details of the contract he is expected to sign after undergoing medicals with the team currently placed 4th on the log in Russia.

A confirmation of Odey’s impending transfer was later confirmed by owngoalnigeria.com sources in Russia, including a club source who spoke to us on the condition of anonymity.

Already the MFM forward has submitted his passport to the Russian Embassy for visa process to commence, a move which knocked him out of the Super Eagles camping exercise in France as he couldn’t attend visa interview with the French Embassy.

The scorer of 14 goals in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) is expected to arrive Russia next week, where if all goes according to plan, a deal will be formally announced by the team.

Known for his pace and goal scoring abilities, FK Krasnodar sent a direct contract proposal to MFM FC, which was accepted by his manager who has long insisted that the forward won’t attend trials.

As reported by Owngoalnigeria.com, the Nigerian was a late inclusion in the starting line up for the game, after a player pulled up injured during the warm up few minutes to the start of the game.

Despite his late inclusion, the 23 year old settled into the game nicely and was very pivotal in the clean sheet kept by his team, as he kept feared marksman Mbaye Leye quiet for the entire duration of the game.

Ekong has been sparingly used since returning from an 18 months loan spell with FK Haugesund in Norway in January. His latest performance however suggest he still has a future at the club he joined two years ago.

He is expected to resume his “Oyibo Wall” partnership with Leon Balogun when the Super Eagles play their first competitive game of the year against South Africa in June in the AFCON 2019 Qualifiers.

Revealed – How Akwa United Alhassan “Mu’azam” Ibrahim Gatecrash Super Eagles Squad For France Camp

0

Akwa United in-form forward Alhassan Ibrahim popularly referred to as Mu’azam has been rewarded for his fine form this season in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).

Mu’azam has ten goals for high flying Akwa United, the team he joined at the start of the season from Wikki Tourist, where he spent six months to have his first taste of professional football.

Bar his goals, the forward who was once upon a time the most sought after Nigerian teen got a call up to the team, thanks to the good relationship of his agent (names withheld) with one of the coaches of the Super Eagles in Salisu Yusuf.

Head coach of the team Gernot Rohr tasked Yusuf and his other Nigerian assistant Imama Amapakabo to suggest home based players, who will join the team in France, when they converge for a get together.

Yusuf picked Mu’azam as one of the players, but just like the case of Musa Muhammed, Mu’azam inclusion in the squad is more of close connection between his agent and the Eagles assistant coach than his form.

Rohr Bows To Pressure – List Three Home Based Players In Eagles Squad For France Camping

0

Coach of the Super Eagles of Nigeria Gernot Rohr has given three players plying their trade in Nigeria the chance to stake a claim in the senior national team of Nigeria.

Rohr has in the past ignored players plying their trade in the Nigerian domestic league, with goalkeeper Ikechukwu Ezenwa the only home based players who has the trust of the Franco-German coach.

However sources at the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) revealed three home based players in Sikiru Olatunbosun of MFM FC, Ibrahim Alhassan of Akwa United and regular invitee Ikechukwu Ezenwa of FC Ifeanyi Uba have been called up to the Eagles camp which will hold in France.

” They had their visa interviews this morning at the French Embassy , it’s up to them to prove themselves in camp, because it wasn’t easy convincing Rohr to include them in the first place”, a source told Owngoalnigeria.com.

” Another thing is for them to maintain their form between now and when the camp in France will open. Anything short of that could see them miss out on the team”.
